Entrance Hall Envy
Entrance halls, those funny spaces we’re not entirely sure how to use and furnish. Some are small thin rooms, that we often pass through without a thought, some are awkward spaces with dark corners used for dumping coats and shoes and some are large and almost wasted space. So what can we do to ensure this vital room sets the scene for the rest of the home. After all, it is often the first room we enter into, setting the scene for those all important ‘first impressions’.
Here at Chichi we like to help and get excited about design, so below are just a few varied ideas of how to make this space a room as much as part of the home as any other.
Wow Factor – if you have a large home and big entrance with high ceilings, you may want to go for all out glamour. As shown above, an elaborate silver console table and mirror will not let you down, it will ‘own’ the space its in, simply oozing style.
An Understated Elegance – your space may not be huge, but may be big enough to support a sophisticated, chic style. The above unit is an elegant, yet bold piece. Finished in stylish black, with contrasting green this writing desk won’t go unnoticed, but is not overpowering, softened by the delicate curves. An ideal unit to store and sort your mail, this piece is simply chic.
A Pop of Colour – a more country styled home, with a smaller, maybe darker hallway, in need of that little boost. The above will not fail to deliver. A vibrant blast of colour, this unit is stylish, yet fun and will brighten up any space.
A bit of a Squeeze – if you hallway is tiny, don’t feel it needs to be overlooked. The above side table is small but perfectly formed. It would be ideal in a corner or tucked away position, but would not be lost, the stylish gold and delicately carved legs adorned with carvings would look simply stunning. A perfect phone/mail/keys table, or simply left with a vase of spring flowers.
Well, hopefully this has given you some good ideas into styling your hallway, let us know what style suits your best and why.
