We’ve made it, we have finally reached number ONE of Chichi Furniture’s Top 20 Fabulous French Pics.
Although I have to admit it was hard putting them in order as they were all beautiful and very different.
So the winner is this beautiful French style bedroom, a striking black ornate Genevieve Bed that owns the room, an equally stunning Bordeau bedside table that is a bold feature to complement the bed, whilst the decor is delicate and neutral. The huge wall standing gold mirror adds detail, glamour and warmth, whilst softening the overall scheme and the chandelier pulls the ceiling into you eye line ensuring its not a cold empty space above such beautiful room setting.
A perfectly designed and well balanced room, each item standing out just enough without being overpowering – would you agree?
Happy hump day everyone. After a tiny little break, Chichi Furniture is back and ready to continue our top 20 fabulous French furniture choices.
Today we are on number 19 and its all about the bedroom and how a little silver style can create a beautifully elegant room.
In the room below, space isn’t in abundance, so whereas gold is glamorous, it would be too heavy in this instance and silver is the perfect alternative, stylish and chic, but a little more toned down and subtle.
The room features our exquisite ‘Alice’ bed, with a gorgeous black silk upholstered headboard. The black stands out as a stunning focal point for the room, with the silver frame blending it into the scheme, just softening the look whilst giving it that luxurious touch.
The room is not huge so the two petite silver bedside cabinets are an ideal way to add functional furniture in keeping with the style and not ‘over filling’ the space, but completing the look perfectly.
Todays post is all about colour :O)
We all need a little colour in our lives. Colour can completely transform a space and our mood. Sometimes when you look at a room it just needs that little something extra – colour.
It doesn’t have to mean a total re-paint. Just adding a feature piece of vibrant furniture can really lift a space, adding dimension and depth.
Take a look at the beautiful pieces from Chichi Furniture below;
Behold the Gold – this weeks bedroom from Chichi Furniture is a touch of opulence. Celebrating all things extravagant.
Some of the featured pieces draw on the Rococo era, being decorative and ornate – simply works of art in the form of furniture.
This room is the mother of all things flamboyant and all that we love about French furniture, heavily carved, beautifully upholstered, large statement pieces. Each item is a feature in itself with beautiful detailing and design.
In rooms like this, you can dream big, add a bedroom chair to ensure the room doesn’t have to just be for sleeping in, hang a beautiful mirror on the wall and complete the look with a huge sparkling chandelier for that romantic boudoir feel.
When it comes to our bedrooms, we often think/need them to be tranquil havens, somewhere we can go to relax and wind down from the day. But, we still want them to be stylish and inviting. Its hard to actually feel restful in a lackluster, disorganized space.
Today’s bedroom theme is ‘black’, which people don’t necessarily think of when it comes to relaxing. Often when it comes to bedrooms we choose light, bright colours to make the rooms feel bigger and calming. But actually black can create a striking bold space. Get it right and its super stylish and chic. You can go all out black for that darker/cosy end result, or contrast black furniture with lighter walls, or add some golds/silvers or pops of bright colour to create a stunning feature room.
Playing around with texture and furniture style can also dramatically affect the rooms final look. Below I have shown 3 different examples of ‘black’ bedroom furniture from Chichi. The first being very strong, heavily carved, gothic style, ideal for creating that cosy space – add some mood lighting and the room will simply beckon you in. The second is a much more understated chic look with straighter edged more contemporary French style pieces, a great set to have against lighter walls for that striking contrast. The third is something in between, it boasts some carved detailing and elegant shape highlighted by gorgeous gold leaf to ensure the furniture is the talking point of the room. A striking visual without looking too heavy.
Which do you prefer?
Chichi Furniture’s inspirational room today is a stunning French style bedroom in silver. Not over the top extravagance and certainly not boring, just pure understated chic.
The furniture selected has all the familiar traits of French style, being delicately shaped and featuring some carved detailing.
The first 4 items are from the stunning ‘Alice’ Range, the next suite is our slightly more detailed ‘St Tropez’ range and finally i’ve included some additional pieces from other Chichi ranges that would work well in these bedroom schemes.
Two of the beds feature upholstered headboards, this creates such a beautiful focal point in a room, also adding texture and colour to soften the look, ensuring the scheme doesn’t appear one dimensional and cold. The solid silver headboard holds more of a bold presence in a room, so maybe adding an upholstered chair to the design would be a good way to break up the block of silver and add a splash of vibrant colour.
As much as you may love silver or whatever you choose to be the main colour in a scheme, sometimes you can appreciate that colour more if its highlighted against another tone, making it really stand out. Adding rugs, curtains and upholstered pieces can be perfect for obtaining this effect.
What are your thoughts on silver?
I love the rustic look, its warm and homely. It’s imperfections just add to its charm, it tells a story and to me makes a house a home.
It sets the scene for a kick of the shoes and relax kind of room, the natural wood and distressed features making the space calm and welcoming.
Take a look at the below selection of furniture from Chichi for rustic inspiration. Adding rattan pieces adds texture and depth. Painted units and a touch of gold can lift a scheme and prevent it appearing flat if all one colour, but without distracting from the natural elements.
