Blink and before you know it, its February!
Don’t you find time is just flying by? I’ll be honest, February is possibly my worst month, its wet, cold and dark and most of us just want to hide away in our cosy homes.
So why not celebrate the dark, cold nights, by inviting friends over and dining in style to cheer yourselves up.
Morning everyone. Well we are in December and if you’re anything like me you’ll be fully submerged in Christmas preparations and worrying about how our home is going to fit everyone in for a large over indulgent dinner!!
Beautifully upholstered with a stunning silver leafed frame, elegantly curved legs, gorgeous hand carved detailing and of course two larger chairs either end for the King and Queen of the house !
Hello and welcome to number 18 of Chichi Furniture’s top 20.
Todays post is all about adding style and glamour to your dining room, whilst ensuring it remains an inviting, useable and homely space, where you can spend many a happy hour with friends and family.
The dining room below certainly has the wow factor. The table and chairs finished in silver leaf instantly stand out as a stunning feature, emphasised by the charming French carved detailing that adds beautiful definition, finished off with the incredibly chic black velvet upholstery that just oozes class and allows the silver to really shine.
Christmas is coming, the Goose is getting fat, make sure you don’t end up with Granny sitting on your lap!
The count down has nearly begun as the 1st December looms ever closer. We are thinking about presents, planning when to get the tree and calculating if the turkey will fit in the oven!
But after all the planning, how many of us end up sitting up to table propped on a linen bin, odd stall or picnic chair, as the family struggles to fit round the table.
This year Chichi Furniture wants to ensure you have the perfect Christmas, with the perfect size table with plenty of chairs, so all you have to worry about is what drink you will enjoy.
Hooray, it’s Friday and Its’ Harvest Festival time, so on the theme of harvest and gathering with friends and family and enjoying fine food and fine company, today’s inspiration is for beautiful French style dining sets, from rustic and shabby chic to simply glamorous. Sitting round a table with friends and family is the one true time people chat, share and laugh, conversation isn’t lost when sitting round a table. The dynamics of a ‘family’ returns. Here at Chichi we have tables large enough for those grand spaces and small enough for those cosy coffee and cake moments with nearest and dearest. Which would you choose? Happy Weekend Everyone :O)
Hip Hooray we’ve made it to Friday!!
Chichi Furniture’s Room Inspiration today is a Rustic Style Dining Room – and this is one of my personal faves.
It encompasses all things homely and inviting. That French farmhouse feel, with a large family dining table and chairs, creating a dining room that will be a social hub with warm tones and a relaxed environment. Beautiful solid wooden furniture in its natural form and/or painted in neutral and pastel shades, with a distressed finish evokes a relaxed environment. Sometimes when things are too perfect, people don’t relax for fear of damaging something.
Adding a beautiful ivory mirror would look great in this scheme, but maybe even more effective would be a gold framed mirror, which would just add a new dimension to the natural elements and teamed with an understated chandelier to create a well balanced but multi layered room.
Good morning everyone, it’s certainly getting colder here and it’s Monday – not a great combination for inducing happiness, so Chichi Furniture’s Room inspiration today is glamour and glitz. We’re talking all out indulgence and warming up the scheme with golds and silvers.
We are still on the dining theme, so below are some fabulous furniture pieces to help create that chic, stylish room to wow all your guests. Don’t hold back, with golds and silvers you can get away with large, bold pieces, the furniture can be fabulously ornate, super size the chandelier and layer the room with textures and detailing.
Maybe consider adding one extra key colour to break up the mass of gold/silver so as to appreciate it more. Maybe add a feature chair in a corner, hang beautiful curtains at the window, if the floor is wooden you could have a large coloured rug to lift the scheme.
Whether you go silver or gold, have fun with this one and let your creativity run free :O)
As we near the end of another week, we reach the second Chichi Furniture post on dining.
Today its all about the ‘dark side’. No light and bright today, its all about creating an intimate snug environment. You wouldn’t necessarily consider black as ‘warm’, but a room painted in dark inky colours, with dark furniture and lit with candles and a sparkling chandelier, can be very cosy and atmospheric.
It doesn’t have to be completely without light though, black is a strong visual colour and perfect for creating that stand out feature. You could decide to have light decor with the striking contrast of black dining set, you don’t want it to look awkward though, so ensure there are other black features in the room to pull the look together, a sideboard, mirror for example.
Introduce a colour, maybe have a two toned unit (like the black and green display cabinet below) – you could then add a matching table runner, or a stunning vase full of greenery. Adding layers to the room to blend the design together is so important to create a balanced, cohesive look.
Finally you could decide to turn to the dark side in a gradual way by adding just a ‘touch of black’ and choosing a black framed dining set that has matching upholstered chairs in a paler colour to soften the look.
Whichever you choose, black is a stylish, chic colour, so have fun creating that dark ambient space.
Today Chichi Furniture is back with its topic of Room by Room French interior design ideas and Thursdays inspiration is for a shabby chic dining experience.
Beautiful carved ivory pieces for that relaxed, warm feeling in a room. When using neutral tones you don’t want the scheme to appear flat and boring, that is where these elaborate carved ivory pieces step up the design, with gorgeous upholstered chairs adding texture and depth to the scheme.
Add a display cabinet to show off your fine collection of country crockery, which is a great way of introducing another colour to the design and making the room feel homely and lived in. Or, if you’d rather not have items on show, have a solid door sideboard to store necessary items and place a few choice ornaments/flowers on top, or use it as a serving station.
Placing a drinks cabinet in a corner is a great way to fill an otherwise awkward space, maybe a large plant or floor lamp in another corner will drawer the room together.
Hanging an ornate mirror will add more light to the room. Finally, complete the look with a chandelier centered above the table.
