Happy hump day everyone. After a tiny little break, Chichi Furniture is back and ready to continue our top 20 fabulous French furniture choices.
Today we are on number 19 and its all about the bedroom and how a little silver style can create a beautifully elegant room.
In the room below, space isn’t in abundance, so whereas gold is glamorous, it would be too heavy in this instance and silver is the perfect alternative, stylish and chic, but a little more toned down and subtle.
The room features our exquisite ‘Alice’ bed, with a gorgeous black silk upholstered headboard. The black stands out as a stunning focal point for the room, with the silver frame blending it into the scheme, just softening the look whilst giving it that luxurious touch.
The room is not huge so the two petite silver bedside cabinets are an ideal way to add functional furniture in keeping with the style and not ‘over filling’ the space, but completing the look perfectly.
Good morning everyone, it’s certainly getting colder here and it’s Monday – not a great combination for inducing happiness, so Chichi Furniture’s Room inspiration today is glamour and glitz. We’re talking all out indulgence and warming up the scheme with golds and silvers.
We are still on the dining theme, so below are some fabulous furniture pieces to help create that chic, stylish room to wow all your guests. Don’t hold back, with golds and silvers you can get away with large, bold pieces, the furniture can be fabulously ornate, super size the chandelier and layer the room with textures and detailing.
Maybe consider adding one extra key colour to break up the mass of gold/silver so as to appreciate it more. Maybe add a feature chair in a corner, hang beautiful curtains at the window, if the floor is wooden you could have a large coloured rug to lift the scheme.
Whether you go silver or gold, have fun with this one and let your creativity run free :O)
Chichi Furniture’s inspirational room today is a stunning French style bedroom in silver. Not over the top extravagance and certainly not boring, just pure understated chic.
The furniture selected has all the familiar traits of French style, being delicately shaped and featuring some carved detailing.
The first 4 items are from the stunning ‘Alice’ Range, the next suite is our slightly more detailed ‘St Tropez’ range and finally i’ve included some additional pieces from other Chichi ranges that would work well in these bedroom schemes.
Two of the beds feature upholstered headboards, this creates such a beautiful focal point in a room, also adding texture and colour to soften the look, ensuring the scheme doesn’t appear one dimensional and cold. The solid silver headboard holds more of a bold presence in a room, so maybe adding an upholstered chair to the design would be a good way to break up the block of silver and add a splash of vibrant colour.
As much as you may love silver or whatever you choose to be the main colour in a scheme, sometimes you can appreciate that colour more if its highlighted against another tone, making it really stand out. Adding rugs, curtains and upholstered pieces can be perfect for obtaining this effect.
What are your thoughts on silver?
French style, with a Modern Twist. Todays post is the last one about lounge styles and this one is a modern/contemporary take on French style.
It retains all the beauty and charm of delicately shaped, carved pieces, but the finish is not as traditional as what we’d expect.
Rather than natural rustic tones, or opulent golds, the main colours for the furniture in this room, are white and silver, with a splash of bold colour – elegantly stylish, yet fun and modern. It can be difficult when you may love a style of furniture, yet that style just isn’t right for your home, with these pieces, they still encompass the beauty of ‘French Style’, but could suit more favorably a more modern home. The pieces below are not overly bulky or ornate, but still boast curvaceous frames and subtle detailing that would still hold a strong visual presence, without overfilling the space they are intended for.
Whilst white and silver is a stunning look, it can feel a little cold, so a pop of colour is essential to lift the scheme.
Adding colour in a subtle way with a dual tone unit like the bookshelf below, ensures the scheme retains the sharp, crisp, stylish feel without becoming a mis-match of colours or a confusion of style. You can then add softer tones by way of fabrics – cushions, curtains, a large floor rug. The velvet love seat adds texture as well as colour and blends with the scheme. Finally, the silver additions frame the room beautifully, tying the whole look together perfectly.
Happy Monday Everyone and what a glorious one it is, seems a shame to be working really – sunshine and Pimms is far more appealing :O)
But, back to the task at hand and today we are still talking Lounges, but this week its a Lounge with a touch of glam.
Retaining all the French character and charm, but edged in gold or silver to just add that je ne sais quoi!
Few words are needed for this room, as its purely a visual feast for your eyes, so enjoy feasting on the below pictures to gain inspiration for your home interior;
Happy Wednesday everyone :O)
Today Chichi Furniture is back with black and ideas on how to create that stylish lounge with a colour that some people shy away from!
The lounge is an important room in any home, be it the social hub, or the room you relax in at the end of day.
It’s not a room that necessarily binds itself naturally to black! But, black can be stylish and elegant and a fabulous colour to vividly contrast against.
Lets start with a sharp, crisp look, black and silver – elegant and chic, creating a room that makes you feel ever so slightly regal and will certainly wow guests;
If you find this a little too cold, add a hint of gold – equally as stylish, but the gold tones soften the look and add a touch of warmth.
Finally, you may love the sophistication of black, but need a touch of colour. This is where strong pops of colour can work brilliantly on the black backdrop – add a few brightly coloured tiffany lamps and units with brightly coloured interiors to add a controlled splash of vibrancy.
Would you ever have a black lounge, or is white and bright more your scene?
Well, its here – the letter ‘X’, the one i’ve been dreading and I hang my head in shame to say I couldn’t find an appropriate letter beginning with X, so hands up, i’m going to cheat!!
‘X’ is for ‘eXquisite’ – furniture with the wow factor. Pieces that will make people stop and admire. Thats the great thing with French style furniture, it’s so elaborate and ornate, its art not just furniture. It can fill a room with stunning designs, often adorned with beautiful carved detailing and stylish paint finishes. These pieces won’t fade into the background, instead they’ll be features in any room.
